KUIAS Director-General Shigefumi Mori
On 21 March, 2025, it was announced that Director-General Shigefumi Mori will receive the Basic Science Lifetime Award at International Congress of Basic Science（ICBS）, to be held in Beijing in July 2025.
The ICBS is an international conference where renowned researchers in the fields of Mathematics, Theoretical Physics, Theoretical Computer and Information Science gather. The 2025 event will mark its third edition.
The Basic Science Lifetime Awards are awarded to extraordinary scientists whose work in basic science has been both outstanding and innovative and have, over the course of the past thirty years or more, brought about fundamental change in his or her discipline.
He was selected for his contribution to algebraic geometry.
