Institute for the Advanced Study of Human Biology (ASHBi), Kyoto University, was established in October, 2018 based upon the proposal accepted for the World Premier International Research Center Initiative by MEXT/JSPS. The mission of ASHBi is to elucidate the design principles of human traits, including disease states, using multidisciplinary integrative strategies and to create a foundation of knowledge for developing innovative therapies.
At the Kick-off Symposium for ASHBi, Director Mitinori Saitou will give the opening address to announce the Institute’s research focus and approach. His speech will be followed by presentations from each of the Principal Investigators (PI)/prospective collaborators introducing their aim, as well as outlining their own research.
